Soundwave will NOT be fired nor should he. I personally would not like to see one of the driving forces behind the Alliance Tournament and the spiritual leader of Team BFF take a fall for agreeing to present one opposing side of the microtransaction debate in an internal newsletter.
Soundwave SHOULD be fired, but not for this in isolation. For everything he's been pushing through for the last half year which is ill-conceived, badly implemented, and has screwed over the player base.
As spiritual lead of BFF, I can tell you that he has NO friends in alliance level logistics after the harebrained, idiotic, pointless JB changes. He has done more to harm the rank-and-file EVE players than anyone else, by increasing the general tediousness of the game - things that you, CCP, should be working to remove.
This is merely the last in a long line of events which have proven him to be acting in the worst interests of players. And when this is pointed out to him, what does he do? The same thing CCP always does in the face of complaints about staggeringly stupid and overwhelmingly unpopular changes: Sweet **** All.
START LISTENING TO YOUR INCOME STREAM
This is about so much more than aurum.
It's about how shocking CQ is after 5 years of development. How pointless it is. How annoying it is to have it forced on us. How terrible the performance is. How much it breaks the immersion - I'm standing in a station getting messages saying I have to be in a pod to do various industrial actions. It's about you guys wanting to charge $99 for other people to do your job and make your game playable. It's about how you made the game more-tedious for most people with the JB changes. You made the game less fun to play, and you did it intentionally. It's about how you don't listen to player feedback. It's about how you ignore the things we want done (the CSM topics such as blops improvements, POS improvements, docking radii changes) and instead force upon us stuff that we don't want and never asked for. It's about how you've broken the game with supercarriers that you STILL HAVEN'T FIXED. It's about how you've broken the game with rampant botting which permits the purchase of the supercarriers above. It's about how you've killed nullsec industry. It's about how unbalanced technetium is, which caused the "problem" of leviathan alliances in the north. And how often you were told it was going to be a problem. It's about how you made Dust PS3 only, tying players to a company which has shown a staggering disregard for data protection
Most of all, it's about how you don't give a **** about any of the above.
Not empty quoting.
